Eating & receiving

Just some thoughts on communion: it strikes me as part of God's amazing economy that a time for sharing a meal is also a time for thanksgiving. Especially grateful for last weekend when I shared 3 very different meals with 3 families - Chicago, church and actual :)

The Chicago gathering, to celebrate Loh's birthday, was lovely in several ways: not least because the entire gang hadn't met for a while, and there was plenty of good food and wine, like days of old :) Kudos to Akashi and Wild Oats.

CG cookout was special cos it's been a reeeally long time since I orchestrated such a big meal, and the was certainly quite daunting (esp with taunts from the brothers, haha). Nevertheless it was a hit with everyone and I am immensely grateful for the love. Nobody nobody but chew!

Family lunch to celebrate Sis and Dad's birthdays was another pig-out session at Sushi Tei. The bickering in the car on the way there managed to cheese me off (as it invariably does), but halfway through the meal it suddenly struck me that they -are- the one family I've got, and I should love them anyhow -awww-. Trust me it's not always easy! But praise the Lord for enlarging my heart.

Well-fed and ready to face the world. Or at least, do more eating on my upcoming trip to the States! Watch out, Chitown.
