Unsure if it's a case of 'older and wiser', but am increasingly grateful for the little moments to meet up and share with friends, scheduled or snatched.

The measure of a true friend is the amount of TIME spent with you, getting to know you, preparing thoughtful words for you etc. I say time and not money, since everyone is allotted the same amount of time in a day.
