un-Jaded
Tasted some amazing, melt-in-your-mouth foie gras at a tres chic little eatery at Serene Centre last Fri. The chef was a true blue Frenchman and he actually came out, apron and all, to chat with customers and make sure his food was satisfying. Made me want to traipse all over Europe in search of small mom-and-pop establishments to lavish all (the money, and praise, and digestive juices) I have on :)
Jumped for joy at The Zone, a concert organised by my church and featuring Hillsong United today. Felt really good (not to mention young!) to be among 7000 teenagers gathered to praise the living God.
Then we played board games and Set at JT's, and ate homemade cookies with Island Creamery ice cream :) Brought me back man.
All in all, it's been a great weekend that stopped me from feeling Jaded. Yes, with a capital J, cos what with all the stuff that's going wrong in the world right now I've been sinking deeper and deeper into a pit of believing I can't do anything about sucky situations; of resignment to age and death and apathy itself.
Feels good to be ALIVE :)

So what is the name of this little chic cafe?
La Petite Cuisine :) 2 doors down from Island Creamery. 4 stars (out of 5)! And only cos a) it's a bit ulu and b) their flourless chocolate cake failed to impress. prob should have tried their "imported cakes from France" instead.
As the name suggests servings are not huge. But they're perfect for me and anyway that's the way French food should be right? all about quality, not quantity :D
