Make Me A Supermodel
Being an avid Roald Dahl fan (he wrote a lovely song about the evils of the goggle box) and having survived most of my teenage years without regular contact with a TV set, I have no idea how ppl manage to watch so much of it. It's very rare that I get hooked on a show, and when I do there's bound to be loads of analysis per episode and Wiki-ing galore.
So, here are my insights (or affirmations of them) from Make Me A Supermodel:
1. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em (and then beat 'em).
The first season of MMAS, a spin-off from the UK reality show of the same name, is extremely similar to the more famous America's Next Top Model, but better cos it offers BOTH male and female eye candy, and thus more conflicts (which of course makes for good TV)! Can practically hear Queen's I Want It All playing as they try to outstrut, outpose and outb*tch each other.
2. Love to fight? Then fight to love
These 2 aren't always mutually exclusive; and in fact the healthiest fighters can make the best lovers. While not related to MMAS per se, watching 'reality' TV shows has made me realise the importance of good communication, as well as getting along. It's time to confront my fear of confrontations - differences in opinion aren't always bad!
3. I want an alpha male.
So this is something I've subconsciously known all along, which crystallised in the UK during one of those long candid talks with Eq :) My working definition of an alpha male is one who will fight for his woman and the things he believes in, and I highly recommend this book called Wild at Heart which describes the quests of every male. Yup, I'm generalising again. But guys aren't giving me too much variation to go by so far so... =P
In any case, the alpha male is especially delectable when he looks like this:

Hahaha. Can't wait for next season (H)
