Mood: productive
Have decided to take my driving test in Singapore!!!
My driving instructor today convinced me. when i told him my situation, he was like, "might as well give it a shot... there was this girl who told the tester she needed to pass cos she was going to oz to further her studies and she did!" After deliberating the cost (of theory, tests, pdl n all tt rubbish) n ma-fanness (booking lessons! headache!) n the sheer principle (of starting what you finish) I felt prompted to go for it... so there went $350 into 8 more lessons! Half-crying thinking of all the money and effort going into this. Realised i'm giving $2k, or half my earnings this year, to stupid comfort!! regret not going private. then again i might have had trouble booking tests early... and despite their silly policy about completing thousands of lessons before booking, the counter staff were very helpful in squeezing in sessions to fit my schedule.
One thing good abt the whole thing: the impending test's giving me some focus! now i know i'm near the goal i'm actually quite motivated when i drive... and it spills over to other aspects of my life too! once i got home i settled my RELC receipts and claim forms in one go. Now gotta check out how consultations n prescriptions work in Chicago... and how to get my medications over there.
