Plane of Flying Knives

I was so touched cos I had such a huge sendoff: Alex and CS specially woke up to see me off too (even though I insisted it was ridiculous cos I was being picked up from the Shoreland lobby!) They were all so excited for me going home, and I promised to bring back lots of stuff for them. I love the Chicago sporeans! Miss you guys already.

Midway to Minneapolis was terrifying cos I was traveling alone between 2 completely foreign places (everything was in English tho, thank God). Was wandering around trying to check in luggage, find those US-VISIT kiosk thingies to check out from (turns out there aren’t any yet), hanging on to my boarding passes and trying not to fall asleep. Minneapolis to Japan was surreal: I'm not quite sure I survived that, or if I died and that was Hell. There were 3 babies in Economy; the one on my left wouldn’t stop screeching and the one behind me seemed insistent on trying to murder me by constantly kicking my chair and throwing plastic utensils over the seat onto my head. At any one time, at least one of the babies was raising enough fuss to wake the dead. It's a double standard this proclaimed child-lover is setting, but babies should disappear around the age of 2, when you're tired of feeding and nursing and burping and fussing over them in general, and miraculously appear again when they're about six and capable of expressing what they're unhappy about, so you can shut them up with a sweet or two *Imustlearnhowtolikesquallingbabies*

The last flight was supreme compared to the first two (except that I had to rush from 1 gate to the other, and got worried cos I didn't have to time to call home or sam first) for several reasons:
1. It was the last stretch to home and I had sthing to look forward to
2. The plane was spanking new and very comfortable: Airbus 330 Video-on-Demand rocks! Never knew I, Robot was set in Chicago, too *muses*
3. No crying babies.

Met Sylvia on the flight and seems that we’ll be on the same plane to Tokyo again on 1 Jan! Hope she found her luggage tho... will stick to NW cos
1. They don’t lose your luggage
2. Ample legroom
3. 36hr pre-departure online check-in, meaning you can choose your seat and possibly get an upgrade *woohoo*

First purchase off the plane: Estee Lauder's Beyond Paradise at duty-free, i was quite torn between the multi-coloured tear-shaped bottle and the travel-sized case, but I decideed that eu de toilette is meant to stay on and shouldn't be carried around.
First meal off the plane: Tanglin pau and siewmai! Bless Sam's parents.
First flower off the plane: lilies! ok ONE white lily. thanks anyway dear *muaks*

Strangely enough I wasn’t very jetlagged and managed to finish off a whole Alice book before going to bed at 4:15am.
It's true, then. I don’t need to sleep anymore!
