home sweet (?) home

Just as the weather in Chicago takes a swing toward the deliciously cool, I have to fly back and step into the sweltering heat of Singapore. And now it's raining outside... guess the weather is erratic in either place.

Not that it isn't good to be back... but suddenly I can remember so many things I left behind, so many things I had yet to do. Ah well maybe it's late and I'm grouchy. Check-in took forever, and I had to pay for 5 lbs overweight baggage (sweet Asian girl tactic didn't work!)... and had this annoyingly loud-voiced woman sitting behind me on the way to Tokyo, she kept demanding water and trying to speak Japanese (and failing)... to make up for that though I had 2 seats to myself on the transfer to SG. And this whole sequence of events was very ironic given that I was reading Voltaire's Candide ("all is for the best in this, the best of all possible worlds")... And yes strangely I didn't sleep as much as I usually do on planes.

House-wise nothing much has changed... it's back to sharing a room with my sis :( Oh my dad has just invested in a 32" flat screen TV for the living room! Perfect for watching World Cup... speaking of which it's time for Brazil vs Croatia! Ta for now~
