TGIF

Went to the opera yesterday (my first time in Chicago) and was really glad I did. Had been meaning to catch Die Fledermaus ever since singing some excerpts during Choral Camp in J1... the opera has your typical nonsensical plot, with much ado about nothing, but it allowed the audience to follow along easily and provided a laugh a minute. Really awesome singers (jealous! sigh...) and dancers, and fantabulous orchestration.

So Fledermaus was basically a giant champagne advertisement, with everyone ending up blaming the night's events on the effects of alcohol. We celebrated by having a glass of bubbly ourselves during intermission, and feeling all high-class :) Long live your frothy Majesty!
