ginger juice crash fresh milk

Err. It sounds a lot better in Chinese la. And it tastes a lot better too!
Failed to take a picture before I'd lapped it all up, but basically jiang1 zhi1 zhuang4 xian1 nai3 is steamed ginger milk served hot. Tried this for the first time at a little shop in Chinatown, along with other traditional Cantonese desserts like double-steamed egg (tasted like a more eggy version of egg tart custard), almond paste, and sesame tangyuans (with sesame-flavoured glutinous flour, rather than ah-ballings which only have very sweet sesame fillings that ooze out from a plain glutinous case).

Before that me and 'family' had dined out at a nice Korean place - bi bim bap, beef bulgolgi and steamboat! This was AUTHENTIC kimchi country, not the watered-down versions I'd tried in Chicago k. My eyes and nose were watering from the hot-ness but it felt waay shiok! Rescued my taste buds with korean tea which is cold and lightly fragranced with jasmine or sthing delicious. Everyone go! Togi on Mosque St, the lao ban niang is super nice and explained everything on the menu with the cutest Korean accent.

Anyway I just wanted to say, it felt great to meet up and reminisce on our H-O-M-E-L-E-S-S days... it's really sthing when you can not see each other for like 6 months and be able to yak away when you meet again. We're not 'family' for nothing! Mamaluv foreva! =)
