In Song... in words
As with any concert I think there were certain areas which could be improved upon... Sop 2s could have been stronger, some blending and tuning probs, and an embarrassing MC flaw... but let's not harp on dark spots in what was on the whole a very commendable performance!
Enjoyed the Indonesian and Jap segments particularly. Kudos to the conductors for handling such difficult pieces! The guys were really solid, solos were all wonderful (way to go Yen Han! RG power!!), the costumes pretty (must be thanks to Mama Sandy and the sari police), the programs beautiful (Yokie did a pro job!) and thank God there were no ringing hps or other rude noises (yes I'm anal abt ppl who must cough and clear their throats loudly and frequently at concerts. stay at home!).
Well done VC! :)
It was also lovely to see everyone again, I love the Chorale seniors! Although it was nothing much more than "Oh hi how are you so glad you came back" I'm glad the ties from Bremen 2004 are still there... always like to think that there exists an undescribable bond between us choir ppl, forged from the many long hours of practice (as well as numerous food outings and gossip sessions :)
Quite disappointing to hear of lukewarm ticket support though. Not to mention so few of our batch turned up... Was it the inconvenience of the date/time? The $20 price tag? *shrugs* You can't expect everyone to feel the same way I guess, priorities differ. Plus perhaps we didn't make the effort to keep in contact with everyone so ppl didn't hear/ weren't motivated to come down... *guilty*
Another soppy post which prob only choir peeps would understand... but I'm so glad for RGchoir, VJChoir and VC! Yay for the wonderful memories.
