Back to waking up at 530
I was really excited to be going back to Chicago (and still am I guess) but also teetering on panic as I rushed to pack and say my goodbyes. And on the way to the airport a million and one things which I should have done back home were racing through my head - ate more at home, talked more to my porpor, exercised more (ha!)...
Oh well, too late for that now.
Got back safely; flight was uneventful, save for 2 (relatively quiet) babies and the discovery of Gayle's Chocolates at the Detroit airport. The Altima is spoilt and all of us are now relying on one (Wanyun's) car. Lots to do and buy and clean and settle before school starts, it's all quite exciting to be keeping house on our own!
The IKEA nearest to Chicago is HUGE. Pity the Swedish meatballs aren't... but they are delicious! We actually bought some frozen.
Song of the day (make that week): Defying Gravity from Wicked! Hilarious twist on the Wizard of Oz.
Movie of the week: Proof (slightly philosophical drama starring Anthony Hopkins as a math genius gone nuts and Gwyneth Paltrow as his daughter who eventually surpasses him and ahem, PROVES herself with a stunning mathematical proof), with scenes shot right here at U of C! So cool to be able to identify certain buildings and signs (and even some people), I can SO see why they would want to film in a uber-geeky yet uber-cool place like here *grin*
My housemates are prooving to be very amicable and seeing them 24/7 is not as bad as I th-- haha ok, I wasn't expecting anything, but nobody is killing anybody else or anything, and we are actually surviving WITHOUT INTERNET (which is why I am typing this in the Reg - feels like we never left). I love them both loads!
