Swan season in Singapore

One of my last meals in sunny Singapore: new asia kitchen in Citylink Mall (where Delifrance used to be). We had really nice pork chop fried rice, dan dan mian (now I know why my senior was raving about instant noodles and peanut butter, it's almost exactly the same thing) and some mango sago thing (koped from sister restaurant Thai Express next door).

My last performance in Singapore: watching The Bar at Buena Vista, a jazz/ entertainment performance featuring members from the legendary Buena Vista Social Club. Some were really really old crooners, but *boy* can they shake it! And *woo* was the salsa hot. In fact majority of the audience were part of the local dance scene (predictably, quite small so they all knew each other) and at the end they cleared the front area of VCH and everyone danced around.

What I want to bring away from Singapore (besides kaya, bakkwa, pineapple tarts and all that comfort food): nothing much, just lazy days spent with loved ones, reading, laughing and enjoying the company; and knowing that, as the song goes, this is where I know I'm home.
