back on (rollercoaster) track

So life was really messy for a while but since I've gotten all my midterms and papers cleared, it's looking much better ;)

Chicago Idol was one of those events which, for the quality of execution in relation to the time, money and effort spent organising it, I feel could have been done away with without much value being missed from the school :( There were some redeeming voices among the paltry few contestants, but most of them treated it more like a karaoke competition than anything else, resulting in an utter lack of stage presence and sheer boredom for the audience. On top of that the technical (I should say, there was NO technical) with countless stop-starts, PLUS-one music tracks and no arrangments being made for lights... *covers face* Disgraceful. I would have walked out if I weren't supposed to guarding the bubble tea from rabid free-food stalkers, and supporting SAMSU's BSB.

Skipped school today to visit a theme park. I figured it would be just as well cos it forced me to finish my bio paper (a proposal to investigate the reasons for mass stranding in dolphins)... as it was I was still slaving over it til 4am this morning :-/ Ok despite the inordinate lack of sleep I went through part of me actually enjoyed thinking through the proposal and all the bits that might/ might not work... ah there is hope for me as a marine biologist :) :)

So anyway Six Flags was ab fab, the lines weren't too long and the rides were as satisfying as they were one yr ago. Sad that not everyone went on the rollercoasters tho, think it's more fun when everyone goes up and screams their heads off together.

My absolute favourite ride, which unfortunately wasn't open this time round... but Raging Bull wasn't bad either

And try this one for the sheer Velocity:

Parking and food were exorbitant but everything was worth it!! Also discovered Dippin' Dots aka Ice Cream of the Future that is my perfect solution to fast-melting desserts... =P

My catch of the day:

To conquer

Finally the day ended with a giant 8-course dinner at Phoenix to celebrate the success of Beauty World! Was great seeing everyone from the cast and crew again... and all the programme and poster-signing was enough to make anyone feel like a 'big star star'...

Now, a breather... if i just get started on laundry and cleaning up my room and house ;)
