Warm day in winter...
does not the spring make. Still, time for more optimistic updates!
Snow's melting! the pavements are visible once more. first time in a week that i got to wear my sneakers, welcome relief from the snug (meaning both warm and too-tight) boots.
Ironically, my friend has chosen to get ill on this balmy day and as such i have had to pump him with vitamins. *shakes head* it was the frosties i tell ya... may he get well soon.
I have probably gotten over my jetlag, by reverting back to the habit of sleeping at 2am. then i had to wake up at 7:20 and force myself awake with a Chai tea latte (actually not too arduous an experience at all).
Hume is getting interesting... we're currently dicussing the purpose of a human being and the definition of happiness. In Chem we have just wrapped up 'what we were supposed to finish last quarter' according to Dr LJB (mrreOW!)... and I have a really nice Bio prof who's falling terribly behind (and it's only 2nd week!). Computing is really fun; it's the most practical subj i'm taking now and i have a sweet German professor with a hilarious manner of wringing his hands when the screensaver comes on (cos then the projector monitor will go off, and the 'vanna white' secretary from the office will have to come in with the remote to switch it on again). but i hope my textbooks come soon so i can clarify my vague ideas of what's going on in class, and get my hw done.
Many many shows this quarter! of the musical/ drama variety, i.e. must-go. Spamalot, The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Wicked, Les Mis! My a capella group is singing some really beautiful songs this quarter. We've just sung at a mini-concert which raised $1000 for tsunami relief, and will sing at the Intl Food Fest (expect 1000+ ppl lining up for free food in Ida...) Other events on the horizon: Citilights/ S'pore Filmfest, stargazing, and CNY :)
All in all things are not quite as miserable as expected. Watch this space for more details!
