Alas

The plan to stay off rich sweet foods did not quite work out as planned...

Fri was Sam's bday and we celebrated with a sinfully creamy hazelnut logcake.

Christmas was Thai mango salad and chicken glass noodles... then at Grandma's there was chicken curry with fresh warm french loaf, fried prawn bee hoon, crabstick salad, a lot of peanut butter cups that I'd brought over, impeccably-packaged lotus-filled treats from Japan, and more logcake! I'm done with logcakes for a long long time.

Happily I also got a tin of home-made pineapple tarts from my aunt who once owned a bakery... added it to the growing pile of stuff I'm supposed to bring back to Chicago. Seriously doubting whether I'll be able to fit everything into 2 bags now!

Also went to my uncle's restaurant for bfast on Boxing Day... it's The Beach Hut at ECP *shameless plug* Nice satisfying buffet for only $7 - toast, tomatoes, bacon, pancakes, eggs the way you want them, porridge... And the bar is a great place to chill at night. Not that I've done that :)

Finally, after the Christmas service (which rocked, btw) we had satay, mee siam/rebus and nasi briyani on the Kallang Waterfront.

Heck. I'd better get my fill of nice food at home while I'm still here *sigh*
